I have a question about wedding planning?

Hello, I had asked a question a few months ago about telling my parents about me getting married and I mentioned about my fiancée being unemployed…and I received so really good and honest answers and I did appreciate them all and I as of now we have decided to wait until he finds a job. So now I am working still and trying to get in school to be an LPN my goals have not changed and I still love my man. He still wants to give me a wedding. I want to have a wedding still and I have been reading articles about planning a beautiful wedding on a small budget and I have seen these gorgeous weddings and their budget to the most was 7,000 for everything. Since I can’t be a bride yet until my groom-to-be finds a stable job what are some tips that I could use to start saving up for my wedding like for the important stuff like the venue, food, photography, and of course my wedding dress and other small things that I may need for it. I mean I have been reading on that I mean is it a good ideal to get started on saving and you know it won’t be too stressful?
i apreciate the first answer about the nursing and I tried to go for being an RN but for me it was too much and I have to have a medical job to get in the program in Jacksonville Fl I am doing the LPN to have as a stepping stone to see if nursing is what I really want to do and also to get in he field. Thanks but I like the questions so far and I am so for the ideal of being a DIY bride thanks…

we are getting married on 10/10/09 and have had since this past may to plan it… my budget is 3,000 bucks… i have 1800 left… and all i still need to do is, alterations on my dress 130, pay photographer 400 ( good deal!! ) purchase heavy appetizers, alcohol and mixers…. and i think that is about it… so i think i am gonna come in under budget… nice!!! this is how i did it….
we decided to do our wedding at our home – no venue costs
our best man is gifting us the DJ – no DJ costs
my future MIL is having our cake made – saved around 375. she also purchased all the plates and napkins
a friend of a friend is bartending for tips only – no bartender fee
checked with the local college and had the professor recommend a good photography student. she is awesome!! and since she isn’t professional yet, she gave me a great deal and will give me all rights to the pictures ( so i don’t have to go to her for prints )
looked at lots of wedding magazines for decorations and just walked the isles of the local craft stores for ways to make them myself
downloaded coupons for local stores for vases and candles for center pieces
purchased all my tulle online at a great price…
so, needless to say, once you choose a venue, draw a diagram of what you want it to look like and then start picking things up a little at a time… a couple of rolls of ribbon here, some tulle there, etc…

    Sorta off subject here but…

Why your LPN and not your RN?

I got my RN in 2 years and make way more money than the LPN’s just saying if your going to put out that much money and effort go for your RN!

I had my Bachelor’s in Nursing in 3yrs..

Find out what your friends are talented at. We saved lots of money buy having my best friend, who is a pastry chef, make the cake and friends who were interested in flower arranging donated the flower arrangements as their gift.

Saving up money is an excellent idea! The worst way to start a lifetime relationship is with debt.

My fiance and I are getting married in a small ceremony at our house with only immediate family (16 guests). When the economy gets better, we’ll plan a larger celebration.

A really good tip on saving money is to bring your lunch to work. You could save $5 a day which adds up to $100 a month! Also, eat in. Plan your meals according to sale papers and reheat leftovers for the next day’s lunch or dinner.

It is an exceptionally good time to start saving. If you have to take a loan out to pay for a wedding, you need to reconsider your planning strategy. Being a DIY bride will save you a ton of money, too. Get a really good idea of what you want and check sales.

You can create a beautiful wedding for $1,000 or $100,000 so don’t be discouraged.
