I want to start a business as a Wedding Planner, but how do I go about getting started?

Author: I enjoyed planning my own wedding 4 years ago and now I am extremely interested in planning weddings for couples on a budget. I found so many discounts…it was a blast. I just don’t know how to get started. I have a photographer and a DJ to work with already…I just need couples

I’m not a wedding planner but you can go to http://www.fabjobs.com and find out. I almost went into interior decorating a while back and got info there. THey had great info on a lot of different career choices. GOOD LUCK!!!

My suggestion is to plan a friends wedding and so you get to see it from a bride’s point of view. But mostly it takes you knowing what exactly you want to do. For example, are you going to merely plan the wedding or are you going to put together the flowers? or work with a florist? You have a photographer and a DJ. Talk to them and have them refer you to potential clients. Once you get your name out then you would be started. Just make sure your legal by getting a business license, tax id, and business plan to help you focus on your goals.. Take lots of pictures and set up a portfolio for potential clients and you are good. Good luck!
