My suggestion is to plan a friends wedding and so you get to see it from a bride's point of view. But mostly it takes you knowing what exactly you want to do. For example, are you going to merely plan the wedding or are you going to put together the flowers? or work with a florist? You have a photographer and a DJ. Talk to them and have them refer you to potential clients. Once you get your name out then you would be started. Just make sure your legal by getting a business license, tax id, and business plan to help you focus on your goals.. Take lots of pictures and set up a portfolio for potential clients and you are good. Good luck!

I’m not a wedding planner but you can go to http://www.fabjobs.com and find out. I almost went into interior decorating a while back and got info there. THey had great info on a lot of different career choices. GOOD LUCK!!!

Get a website. Its the most essential marketing tool for any business. And you can list all your services and contact info on the website. And photos of your past events.
