Can anyone give me a good tips to save budget for wedding?

Hi.
I am newly engaged and having a wedding next august.
As I started to planing, I was freaked out how much I have to pay for my dream wedding!!
It will be small. Around 50 peoples.
Been looking at venues and receptions.or other needy stuffs.

Can anyone advice me what part of wedding can be
cut the budget?
(ps/ our budget is $5000- not so sure even it enough money to entertain guests or so:;(. )

Don’t fret the small stuff! Trust me most people will not notice that you didn’t give them a favor and the money you will save by skipping all the small stuff will amaze you and no one will miss it!!

My friend just got married a few months ago and she planned the whole thing in about a month and it cost $2500-3000 for about 30 or so guests. She had it at a restaurant in the French Quarter with a great courtyard(http://www.courtoftwosisters.com/). The only flowers she had were for her and her bridesmaid. She had it on a Friday morning around 10 am and all the guests ate from the brunch buffet. She could have reserved the whole courtyard, but that would have cost extra, so she just reserved the whole back portion and the rest of the courtyard had all the other guests at the restaurant. The location was able to provide a space for her to get ready and a jazz trio that was already scheduled to play at that time. The cake was a small two tier cake that they got from a grocery store bakery. Her biggest expense was the food and location. After that she only spent money on the dress($400 at Davids Bridal), flowers ($50 at Whole foods), photographer ($500 who was a friend of the family), cake ($75), officiant.

There were no favors or table decorations or anything like that, and no one noticed. It was one of the most relaxed and fun weddings I’ve ever been to and everyone LOVED it!

My biggest advice is to plan everything out. Budget, budget, budget! and stick to it. When people give you the stink eye if you say you aren’t going to do this or that, just say you would rather spend more money and effort living your life together than spending too much on one day.

The food and venue is always going to be your biggest expense, so make sure to look at some other non traditional spaces. Restaurants, parks, museums all will have spaces that you can rent out and are usually cheaper than traditional wedding venues. Also, don’t forget to ask family and friends if they know anyone who could help out. I got a deal on my catering for my wedding because they were a friend of the family. And my photographer was a friend who did the pictures as our wedding gift. If you can find a venue who will let you bring in your own caterer, it is usually cheaper. Also, Brunch style foods and receptions will be much cheaper, especially because people usually don’t expect alcohol at that time.

Good Luck! and always remember…its the marriage that’s the important part, not the wedding.

How to Have Your Dream Wedding Dress Without Breaking the Bank

If you are one of the many couples who became engaged between Thanksgiving and New Year’s, congratulations!  And while the uncertain economy will probably not stop you from tying the knot, it may affect your wedding budget and how much is spent on your wedding dress.  Here are some ideas on how to get that dream wedding dress for your big day without breaking the bank.

Set a budget.  Look at all the expenses for your wedding and decide if there are some adjustments you are willing to make in certain expenses (such as food or reception hall) so that more money can be allocated for your wedding dress.

Style of wedding ceremony.  Depending on the type of wedding ceremony you choose to have (traditional, informal, indoors, outdoors) you may want a wedding dress that reflects the style of the ceremony.  If that ceremony is short, simple and informal, you won’t need to spend a lot of money on a couture, high-fashion wedding dress.  Of course, the wedding should reflect your personal style, so choose your wedding dress and ceremony to match your style and whatever makes you feel comfortable.

Be a smart shopper.  Do your research online and off-line to find the best deals in wedding attire and accessories.  Researching online to find discount and affordable wedding dresses will give you an idea of what types of wedding dresses are available and price ranges.  You can then take that information and look for a local bridal store that can offer comparable prices for wedding dresses as well as various deals and discounts on additional wedding products and services.  Purchasing your wedding dress locally from a reputable bridal store at a good price would be the best option.  You are able to try on the dress and be fitted at the store and if there were problems, you could handle them in person at the shop.  If you are not able to find a bridal store to purchase your wedding dress locally, then you may want to consider ordering it from one of the many  online discount and wholesale bridal stores.  But remember to give yourself enough lead time when ordering your wedding dress online in the event you need to have  it altered.

Remember that details add to the cost of your wedding dress.  Exquisite craftsmanship in a wedding dress adds to its value and price.  Things such as hand embellishments, the bustier, luxurious lining, rich fabric, detailed finishing and machine stitch work all add to the beauty and cost of a wedding dress.

Consider going vintage.  If vintage is your style, you may find your dream wedding dress in a second-hand store at an affordable price.  Or better yet, you may find it in a relative’s attic who would be more than willing to let you have the wedding dress for you to wear on your big day.

Rent it.  Many “green” brides are starting to consider the idea of “reusing” their wedding dress by renting it instead of purchasing a gown.  When you consider what you are really spending your money on (a once-in-a-lifetime dream dress) that will only be used once and then be placed somewhere in a box never to be taken out again, renting your dream wedding dress becomes more affordable.

The most important thing to remember when looking for your wedding dress is don’t compromise your style for your budget.   The key is to find a gown that fits both your budget and style preference.  With a little work and planning, you can have the wedding dress of your dreams without breaking the bank.

Wedding Reception Sites for That Dream Wedding

Often it’s not possible for us to make it lavish and extravagant giving in to peer pressure and almost everyone has their own budget constraints. So how about some catchy concepts about wedding reception sites so that your wedding album is worth a second look!

Now everybody cannot afford a wedding planner so obviously things on card have to be planned in advance to avoid any last minute goof-ups! And of course that first thing that comes to our mind is the wedding reception locations.

Usually outdoor wedding reception sites are a lot more fun compare to weddings in a closed environment. Weddings on a beach, a wedding in a garden or poolside seems to be thrilling idea but what if it rains or snows or if it’s too cold?

No one wants their wedding to turn into a damp squib-the bride running for a change or all delicious food soaked in water. Most brides and grooms always look for a unique reception theme or idea which suits their taste. Right from the tiniest detail like the flowers till the wedding cake everything totally adds to the feel of the wedding. Here are some of the popular wedding themes you can stick to like-

The Aqua blue wedding often paired which is often paired with the most classic of supporting acts like silver, pearls and creamy roses is a feast to everyone’s eyes.

Or how about a Dolphin theme wedding-Check out availability at zoos, aquariums or your local sea world which offers wedding packages, some domestic water parks actually have dolphins participate in your ceremony acting as ring bearers and entertainers.

Even a grand fairy tale wedding would be a piece of cake for your guests. Cinderella weddings ask for ice sculptures, cascading floral arrangements perched on top of tall, fluted pillars, clear “glass” slippers lined across the room and no doubt the royal couple should know how to mesmerize the guests with an artful waltz.

After choosing a theme the first thing we need to consider is the wedding reception site and here are a few important things you need to consider before you move on:

*Before choosing the venue think of the number of guests you are inviting. Although it might be your dream reception but the comfort of your guests should not be ignored either.

*Always choose a site that is within the commutable distance for the guests probably just a few miles away from where the wedding ceremony was held.

*Plan everything in advance and book your wedding reception site as early as possible as you have other things to follow with like ordering the cake, flower themes, food etc.

*In case you choose an outdoor wedding site it’s always best to keep an indoor option so that you can move inside if it rains.

* Watch your budget. Do not go beyond your capacity. Keep it crisp and sweet. A successful wedding reception doesn’t necessarily have to be lavish what matters most is the hospitality and the comfort of the guests and a fresh solemn ambience that adds to the flavor of the wedding.

What do you think of the name Affordable Fairy Tales as the name for a wedding planning bussiness?

I am going to start my wedding planning business in Oregon this year. The name is available and I am in the process of reserving it right now. As a wedding planner my focus will be on putting together a dream wedding on a small budget. Should I add to the name or leave it as is?

I agree it is a great name, I would leave it as is and then add to it on your business cards and brochures, something like "Affordable Fairy Tales, head in the cloud weddings, feet on the ground prices"

Good luck!

How to Plan a Wedding – Simple Wedding Planning Tips

Every woman dreams to have her own dream wedding, but before this becomes a reality, you need to have a good plan about every wedding detail. Planning a wedding would be easier if you know the most important things to consider before marching down the aisle.

First, you should determine the overall motif of the wedding. The motif would eventually contribute to your idea of the type of wedding gown you want to have. This is a very important thing to decide upon as a couple, no matter how trivial it may be for others.

After you decide on the motif, it is time to figure out the invitation cards that you need to give out to people who are invited. Make sure that the invitation is not too flashy. For weddings, it is best to choose pastel colors, but some also prefer an unorthodox design, so it entirely depends on the couple.

The motif would eventually help a couple decide on this manner. Next in line are the flower arrangements that you want to incorporate in your wedding. What kind of flowers would you like to have in your wedding? This is a very essential to consider.

Another important factor when planning a wedding is of course the location. Most resorts and hotels have wedding packages available that you can choose from. Make sure you set your budget first before considering any of them.

Alternatively, if you and your partner don’t have the time to plan for the wedding, you can engage a wedding planner that can help you coordinate the wedding. Of course, the price will not come cheap but it is a huge convenience for busy couples.

These are just some of the things that you may want to pay attention to when planning a wedding. But still, no matter what preparation you do, what matters is always the person whom you want to wed in that special day of yours. That person is the most important thing of all.
