Four weddings? Do you watch it?

It seems obvious to me that the "brides" are always going to rate the other weddings badly because they want to win the honeymoon themselves! And it seems like a totally unlevel playing field in the first place because they don’t have the same budget…

On the "celebrity" 4 weddings (last night) David Van Day spent £50,000! Surely his wedding should of won and been the best seeing his budget was twice that of the others? (More or less!)

At lest on "restaurant in our living room" they both have the SAME budget to start with, surely that makes it more fair?

Who would WANT your wedding be on TV like that anyway? Competing and showing off?

I watch this and to me it is obvious that some people are only going into the competition to show off and not because they cant afford a honeymoon – because there was a women who spent 40,000 on her wedding, she wasnt famous and so it was obvious she could have a honeymoon if she wanted one, she was purely showing off.
I didnt watch the one with this David but to be honest i like how everybody has their own budget because there are some people with a 3,000 budget who really want a honeymoon, competing against a person with a 30,000 who is looking to show off. I’m glad the person with the lower budget sometimes wins because it shows that money doesnt always buy you the best and gives the genuine person without money for a honeymoon the prize they wanted, instead of giving it to the person who could afford it without the show anyway.
For me, i would rather go without a honeymoon than have 3 other (sometimes snobs) criticising my wedding.

What is/was your wedding budget and plan?

When were you married? Where did you have your ceremony? reception?

What did you serve your guests?

What were your colors? Flowers, fake or real?

My plan was to marry the man I loved and not be bothered with people (relatives) bickering over cost, appearance, what’s proper/what’s not.
- I wanted to enjoy the day and not be stressed over it.
We got married at the court house in a small ceremony, no one but us and the judge. I loved it. All I had to do was concentrate on him and him on me. We had a small cake and champagne after. I wore a cream lace outfit and he had on a brown suit. I had a lovely flower arrangement of pink roses. We took the money that would have gone to the wedding and spent a week in Las Vegas doing everything we wanted to do.
We were married Sept 28, 2007

What You Need to Know About Wedding Favors

Article Introduction:
When it comes to weddings, everything has to be perfect – it is the most important day of the two love-birds and you surely would not want to remember that day as being “that day when the music was too loud, the food were too salty” or “the wedding favors were embarrassingly awful and everybody complained about them”. I may become a bit melodramatic here but I am sure you understand most of this – the bottom line is that everything has to be at peak efficiency and look at

Article Body:
What is the purpose of these wedding favors, what are we to do with them, some people e-mailed me. The answer is rather easy – the purpose of these wedding favors is that they will express a nice “Thank you” to your wedding guests. Some people agree that these wedding favors should not be handed out to just about anyone but to a group of closer guests or to all the guests if the wedding is a small one. Nevertheless, it is your choice entirely when it comes to picking the recipients for these wedding favors. They will also act as something to remind your friends and family of your special day for a long time. Imagine how nice it would be to open your memory box 10 years later and find such a card laying in there. Aside from all these romantic notions, I think it would be wise to discuss matters surrounding the issue of wedding favors issue.

• Considering the budget

In order to add that special touch to your special day, you should not have to spend too much of your budget. This is especially important since weddings are often expensive and the bride and groom cannot spend huge amounts of money on everthing. Wedding favors are very affordable without a doubt with prices varying from a dollar to a few dollars (for those very “cool” ones). Spending a few cents extra on one of those beautiful, elegant favors will surely make a statement.

Wedding Planning???

I’m not getting married for almost 2 years, but I’m horrible at planning things. I don’t have the money to hire a wedding planner bc I have a small budget. I know 2 years is a long time, but when should I start looking for dresses, venues, food? When is a good time to start the actual planning? I have no clue!!

Ha! Two years is a long time…but not in the wedding planning world. You’re in a perfect position to start planning your wedding right now. And I think that if you plan one thing every month you’ll find that it is actually more fun to plan for your big day.

Start with your ceremony and reception locations. They are typically the hardest to reserve. After that move to the photographer and wedding dress. Then wedding party attire. Create a free account on WeddingChannel.com or TheKnot.com and check out their wedding check list. It’ll give you the guidelines of what to do in different time frames.

Congrats on your engagement and good luck! Remember….have fun planning…it’s such an important day and you’ll want to enjoy it to the fullest!

what does one need to become a wedding planner?

I’m interested in becoming a Wedding planner, and I’m just not really sure where to start. Do you have to be certified or go to school to become a planner, or is it something you can just develop on ones own? If someone can help me and guide me to some websites for references and help me go in the right direction i would love it. Thanks!

A woman sees her wedding day as quite possibly the most important and memorable day of her entire life. There are what seem to be a million details involved in the planning of every wedding. A wedding planner is a professional hired to help the bride create the wedding of her dreams. If you have ever thought of becoming a wedding planner yourself, here are a few guidelines explaining how to become a wedding planner.

Is it hard to fulfill the basic needs on how to become a wedding planner?

A wedding planner has the job of taking the stress and the details of the bride’s wedding day and making them her own so that the bride is free to simply enjoy the festivities leading up to the wedding day. A wedding planner must be detail oriented, possess excellent organizational skills, be willing to work long hours, and have the ability to work very well with everyone from the bride and her family to the photographer and florist.

Wedding planners need to be capable of handling any situation that arises. You will need to be able to soothe a frantic bride, as well as assure family members and friends that everything is running smoothly. It can sometimes feel like you are juggling several issues at one time, especially on the actual wedding day. It is also crucial for a wedding planner to not only look professional, but to conduct themselves in a manner worthy of receiving others’ trust (and money). Does the basic requirements on how to become a wedding planner scares you? Well, don’t be.

A wedding planner manages all of the legwork involved with the wedding ceremony and reception based on the couples’ wishes. You will be responsible for making all of the contacts, securing contracts and prices for services, and for making sure it all comes together on the day of the wedding.

Before launching a career in this field of expertise, it is important to have some insight on how to become a wedding planner. A bridal consultant training course is essential for anyone considering the occupation of a wedding planner. Styles of weddings today incorporate a wide range of expectations, tradition, and customs.

You will need to be educated on different styles and types of wedding ceremonies, which will require extensive research on your part. Plan on continuing your education once you have begun working your business. Trends for weddings are constantly changing and in order to be marketable, you will need to be up on all the current ones.

Once you have begun taking your courses on how to become a wedding planner, you will want to register your business. Most cities, counties or states will require at the very least a business name and a license to operate. Once those two requirements have been met and approved, design a business card with your information and begin marketing your wedding planning services.

Launch a website advertising the services you offer as a wedding planner. Brides today are extremely busy. Instead of spending valuable time on the telephone or looking through the phone book, the first place they will look for a wedding planner is online. A physical office where the bride and groom can meet with you is essential, even if it is in a separate place within your home at first.

As you learn about how to become a wedding planner, two of the most important considerations are to have an attorney and to purchase business insurance. This way, you and your business are protected if unfortunate accidents occur.
